Our platform is dedicated to preserving and promoting our yaḵ̓a̱ndas (language) through a variety of invaluable resources, with the goal of offering interactive language courses including adult classes and a language nest. We are committed to revitalizing Kwak̓wala and ensuring its legacy thrives for generations to come. Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw

Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw means "Kwak̓wala Speaking people", The traditional territories embrace the region from Cape Mudge near Campbell River to the Scott Islands of North Vancouver Island, the adjacent mainland of British Columbia northwards to Smith Sound and several villages located on islands between Vancouver Island and the mainland.

U'mista Cultural Society

The mandate of the U'mista Cultural Society is to ensure the survival of all aspects of the cultural heritage of the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw.
